Frederick first appears facilitating a meeting on Evelyn’s behalf, coordinating guild business efficiently and without elaboration. Later, traveling with Evelyn’s party alongside Alexion, he keeps close watch over the two and grimaces whenever Evelyn is intimate with Alexion, his silent disapproval suggesting protective feelings toward her that go beyond ordinary service.
