Jason's Dungeon
Dungeon
First appears: Crucible (Book 8)
Controlled by: Jason (Bk 8)
Jason’s Dungeon begins Book 8 as a buried gothic mausoleum-cathedral (the Barn) housing an underground combat-leveling chamber, topped by the Grift Shop, a bone-architecture mega-mall serving as its commercial front. During the high-ground-advantage upgrade the whole structure sheds earth and rises into the sky, cracking and healing over with crystal veins to become a floating stronghold; by the climax it has leveled up to run multiple simultaneous instances, with the dungeon core orb and a bone throne visible in the cathedral depths.
History
Book 8 — Crucible · From buried mausoleum to floating stronghold
Jason’s dungeon begins as a colossal gothic mausoleum-cathedral (the Barn) buried beneath Asphodel’s corrupted soil, with an underground cathedral chamber running combat/leveling instances and thousands of undead nephilim children hanging from its ceiling. Atop it, the Grift Shop rises as the dungeon’s commercial front — a mega-mall spanning up to twelve stories with a marketplace, boutique shops, a cafeteria, a corporate boardroom, and a rooftop overlook, all built from bone architecture lit by purple mana gems. During the high-ground-advantage upgrade, the entire buried structure sheds earth and rises fully into the sky, cracking under the force as crystal veins spread through the fractures and the Grift Shop becomes the only structure left standing on solid ground, forming the visual and defensive centerpiece of the floating stronghold. By the book’s climax the underground cathedral holds the dungeon core orb (a massive light-devouring sphere of dark mana) and a bone throne, and the complex has leveled up to level 21 with +110% total radius, running multiple simultaneous instances.
Changes: Cracks form throughout the structure during the levitation transformation as stone torques under the force, later healed over by crystal vein growth; a fight in one instance destroys an entire cafeteria; the centipede’s tail slams the cathedral’s colossal doors shut hard enough to crack a hinge, later sealed with black-purple mana energy; one Grift Shop unit remains under construction, containing organized piles of bone-based building material until Jason seals it with bone swarm and air-mana soundproofing. Introduced: the Barn (buried gothic dungeon cathedral), the Grift Shop (mega-mall commercial front, including atrium, boardroom, and rooftop), the underground cathedral / combat leveling chamber, the dungeon core orb chamber with bone throne, a half-constructed, later bone-sealed shop used for private/mindscape scenes
