Boomtown
Settlement
First appears: Happy (Book 5.5)
Controlled by: Controlled by goblins in alliance with Dom and… (Bk 5.5) → Held collectively by the boomtown goblins (Bk 6)
Boomtown evolves from a fortified goblin refugee settlement and Dom/Adrian faction base in Book 5.5 — renovated, partly demolished, and rebuilt into a vertical maze of ramps and terraces that survives a major battle — into a full-blown sprawling goblin city by Book 6: a valley packed with multi-story lean-to buildings behind a towering guarded gate, held collectively by its goblin inhabitants.
History
Book 5.5 — Happy · Goblin base rises and expands
Boomtown starts as a fortified goblin settlement behind wooden ramparts and timber gates, serving as a refugee center for goblins and the base of operations for Dom’s growing faction, with Adrian overseeing new recruits and the goblin inhabitants. It undergoes major renovation, including deliberate explosive demolition of old structures, growing into a massive settlement with hundreds of goblins cooking, crafting weapons, and preparing long guns. The camp explodes outward from its former barricade into a vertical maze of stairs, ramps, and tight alleys and terraces stretching upward for several stories, replacing the earlier chaotic tumble of lean-to structures. During combat it suffers a massive explosion and heavy vibration but survives intact, after which goblins celebrate victory and scavenge equipment. A distant city is also referenced as a separate respawn point for travelers who cannot use immediate resurrection.
Changes: Deliberate explosive demolition of old structures during renovation; settlement experiences a massive explosion and vibration during a battle but survives intact; overall shift from chaotic lean-to sprawl to a multi-story vertical maze of stairs, ramps, and terraces. Introduced: boomtown ramparts
Book 6 — Armageddon · Sprawling walled goblin city
Boomtown has grown into a full goblin city filling a valley, with buildings three to five stories tall crammed together and connected by lean-to ramps, ladders, and boards, packed with green-skinned goblins of all shapes and sizes. A towering wooden gate, dozens of feet tall, fills the narrow pass leading into the valley, lined with chaotic wooden ramparts and goblin riflemen in sniper nests. Just outside the gate lies an open field between the gate and the surrounding jungle, used as a gathering ground where thousands of brown-robed followers assemble.
Changes: Ongoing, constant damage from explosions, fires, and general goblin chaos. Introduced: boomtown gate, field outside boomtown
