Adjusting but accepting undead resident of Peccavi, family reunited with William and Krista, and integrated into the town’s community and governance.
Patricia is a mother and wife whose family is shattered by a brutal attack, forcing her into an agonizing act of mercy before she too is claimed by death. Brought back as one of the undead, she carries deep guilt over what she was forced to do, but her devotion to her family never wavers. Reunited with her husband, she rebuilds a life in her new condition, gradually finding acceptance and becoming a steady, supportive presence within her community even as she quietly mourns what undeath has cost her.

Book 2: Precipice
Patricia is the wife of William, mayor of Peccavi, and the mother of a young daughter, Krista. When their trading caravan is set upon by a werewolf pack, Patricia kills Krista rather than let her be eaten alive, then dies herself defending her daughter’s body. Jason resurrects both of them as undead, and Patricia wakes wracked with guilt, calling her daughter’s death her own fault and fearing it might be her punishment. Even in this state she remains focused on protecting Krista and hoping for some way back to a normal family life.
Patricia and Krista travel with Jason’s group to Peccavi, where Patricia approaches her home under a cloak, nervous about how William will react. She tells him plainly that their caravan was destroyed and that Jason brought them back from death; William accepts the transformation, and the family is reunited. As Peccavi’s undead community forms around Jason’s leadership, Patricia grows steadily more comfortable with her new condition, telling him at the town’s celebration that he has given the survivors back their hope, even though she would rather her heart still beat. She takes an active, supportive role in the town’s governance discussions alongside William, and later acknowledges the trade-offs of undeath more openly, missing the taste of food and the ability to dream, while remaining grateful and committed to her family and the community Jason has built.
