Petra is a skilled alchemist who runs an underground drug-production operation serving the human resistance, having risen from a teenage recruit into a leader of her own facility. Torn between guilt over the harm her work may cause and conviction that it serves a larger cause of human empowerment, she frames herself as part of a coming uprising, coordinating workers and proposing bold sabotage. Unaware of the deeper manipulation steering her movement, she eventually shifts toward a quieter, more cooperative role as a trusted source of intelligence.

Petra runs the underground drug-production facility beneath the Half Mile Club, having been recruited into the operation by Cady as a 15-year-old and developed since into a skilled alchemist who created both the Mendax and Veritas formulations; producing the drugs has also given her the ability to cast air mana. She is torn between the guilt of enabling her people’s compliance and her belief that the drugs are a necessary step toward eventual human magical empowerment, and she bluntly rejects Cady’s softened description of the drugs’ effects as living zombification. She frames her work instead as part of a coming human uprising against the gods, coordinating her factory workers and proposing sabotage tactics such as poisoning water supplies and arson against Half Mile Club infrastructure; she does not know that Cady and the Gambler are manipulating the resistance she believes she is helping to lead. By a later point she has shifted into a support role, serving as an intelligence contact who supplies Jason with accurate information about the arena’s generators and barriers for his mission.
